Lavender Wraps

Lavender is one of the most versatile flowers used in aromatherapy. It has so many great uses that it can be described as a first aid kit in a flower. The Latin root of the name Lavender comes from the word “lavare," which means “to clean." Lavender’s essential oil is one that is gentle enough to be used directly on the skin, unlike many other essential oils which require a carrier in order to be used.

Lavender is an analgesic (pain killer) and it is also used to promote relaxation. One of the best ways to use lavender is in a lavender wrap. These are scarves filled with  a whole grain and  lavender flower buds. Lavender wraps are available in a variety of shapes and sizes. They can be heated for ailments such as aching muscles, back pain,  menstrual cramps, stress, insomnia and depression. They can be put in a zip bag and put in the freezer for a couple hours for cold therapy as well and this can be particularly soothing for headaches and earaches.
The aromatherapy scarf is a great way to send a child off to bed with. The heat will make the child feel safe while the scent will calm them so they can drift slowly off to dream land. It  can be used for  things like gassy tummies and aches from shots.
