Lavender Neck Wrap
Neck and shoulder pain or cramping can be very distracting at work
or home. You may have trouble concentrating or sleeping. These pains
are often caused by stress or lack of exercise. Lavender neck wraps can soothe muscle spasms and reduce neck pain.
Lavender oil is an essential oil that works wonder for relaxing the body. Historically, it has been used in hospitals as a disinfectant and for its aromaticity. It also has been used to relieve skin burns and to reduce inflammation
in other countries. Some people are allergic to lavender, so avoid
using lavender neck wraps if you are allergic to lavender oil.
Lavender neck wraps are generally filled with flax seed, rice or beans.
A few drops of lavender oil are dripped onto the filling, the inner
fabric is sown, and an outer fabric is sewn to it to protect the body
if the wrap is heated. Generally, aromatherapy wraps are made out of
cotton fabric because of the comfort of the material. These wraps don't
have to look plain and dreary - you can purchase or sew your own neck
wrap with fun fabric that gives it personality.
Be careful when microwaving a lavender neck wrap. If heated too long, the seeds can burst.
Heat the wrap for short intervals until it is the desired temperature.
Make sure not to place the wrap on your neck too quickly after heating
it, as you could burn yourself. Alternatively, neck wraps can also be
placed in the freezer to cool burns or stop swelling.
Lavender neck wraps smell and look great, and are very useful to have around the house.
